Dear friends,
The Second Russian YMCA Program Festival is coming soon. It's time to start your preparations for this important, enjoyable and promising event. We hope to see you all in Suzdal - not just some 200 YMCA people from all over the world, but also 5 Russian regional teams, and 2 teams from CIS and other foreign countries. That is why the information given below is mainly intended for the teams, though also for the individual participants, of course.
So we'd like to remind you that the Second Russian YMCA Festival will take place in the town of Suzdal on August 19-25, 2002.
All teams and individuals should prepare for it and be equipped with:
a small team presentation (2 minutes) for the first get-together night. If the weather permits (which we all greatly hope for) team presentations will take place in the open air;
a small humorous performance for "The latest decade" party. It should be based on the history of YMCA within the last 10 years. Time limit for presentation - 10 minutes;
musical, dancing or drama composition, collective meditation, devotion or any other kind of presentation for an evening program on a Spiritual Orientation day. Time limit - 10 minutes. Please inform the Organizing committee about the character of your performance at least a day in advance;
some individual or group performance of any genre (singing, dancing, drama, etc.) you've already got in your repertoire - for evening programs to demonstrate your talents;
lots for an auction - at least one from each local YMCA. It can be anything as long as it a) your lot is somehow connected with YMCA and b) someone is sure to wish to buy it. All funds raised at the auction will be a contribution to the Festival fund;
information about your local organization (posters, brochures, booklets, photos, newsletters or any other handouts) for a Program Fair to present your local YMCA;
any products of your YMCA work that you would like to sell or distribute at the fair (manuals, souvenirs, fine and applied art objects, etc.) All raised funds will go to your organization;
photo and video cameras - according to your desire. But it's very important to provide participants of "Information and PR" workshop with all necessary equipment;
any materials for costume designing (cloths, paper, paints, scarves, make-up, etc.) according to your fantasy and the weight of your luggage;
tape-recorders - if your team needs them for rehearsals and presentations (necessary equipment for workshops, seminars and evening programs will be provided by the Organizing committee);
outfit for sport activities - not only for those participating in "Games and Sports", "Scouting" workshops, but also for everybody else to take part in the Sports event;
long skirts and scarves for ladies - for church services;
student and youth cards - for those having them;
student and youth cards - for those having them;
anti-mosquito spray - just in case;
health insurance - if the spray is not enough (hopefully you won't need it);
500 Roubles - participation fee for Russian and CIS participants.
